Refund & Cancellation Policy

If you are a consumer in the EU, you normally have 14 days from the start of your subscription to withdraw from the contract without giving any reason, under the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) as implemented in Portugal.

To exercise it, send a clear statement of withdrawal to [email protected] within the 14-day period. If a refund is due, we will refund using the same payment method you used at checkout, without undue delay.

Melvu is supplied as digital content/services that begin immediately. Billing starts at checkout (or, where a trial applies, when the trial ends), so the service is performed during the withdrawal period.

By starting your subscription you give your express prior consent to begin the service immediately and acknowledge that you therefore lose the 14-day right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed. For an ongoing subscription this means the period you have already used is not refundable; you remain free to cancel future renewals at any time (see below). You confirm this consent and acknowledgement at the checkout confirmation step.

Founder’s Edition has no recurring renewal and no subscription trial. To request a refund or exercise applicable consumer rights, contact [email protected] with the email used at checkout and your Stripe receipt. Immediate alpha access does not by itself waive mandatory consumer rights. A confirmed full refund removes the Pro entitlement and badge supplied by that purchase; separately paid subscriptions and independent account grants are handled on their own terms.

• Where a free trial is offered, your card is not charged until the trial ends.
• Cancel any time before the trial ends and you will not be charged.
• If you do not cancel, the subscription begins and the first payment is taken automatically when the trial ends.

• Open your dashboard and use the cancel option in the billing panel.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period - your paid plan benefits, including eligible Melvu access, continue until then, with no further charges afterwards.
• A Team member's Melvu access can end earlier if they leave or are removed from the Team, or if the Team owner's qualifying Team plan is no longer current.
• You can resume a cancelled subscription from the same panel before the period ends.

Nothing in this policy limits your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer under Portuguese/EU law, including remedies for a service that is faulty or not as described. For any refund question, contact [email protected].
